Robotics is basically the learning and studying of the robotic nature and engineering for most of the electrical uses we have today that doesnt involve human movement.
Robotics is a type of science and technology of robots. Robotics requires knowledge of electronics, mechanics and software. Robotics are the basic foundation into the world of robots.
A robot is a mechanical or virtual artificial agent. A robot is a system that conveys a sense intellengence. Some robots are percieved as great help unto society because they help people do jobs, but for others robots are a hinderence by taking away jobs and to soon be the future of mankind.
Robotics to me is artificial life created by man to help benifit us in life shown through technology and engineering by using different mecanisms and parts in a particular design.
Robotics is the study of advanced machinery. I think that robotics is going to be the future, that robots are going to take the place of humans in the work feild
robotics is a certain advancement of technology in which people study robots and engineering. most believe that it will decrease the number of jobs in the world because robots will "take over". however even if that happens you will still need people to build and fix the robots.
Robotics is the engineering of making mechanical parts work together to make an independent machine. Although, robotics is an amazing i think it will become quite controversial when it becomes more involed in our world.
i think robotics is the engineering of robots and machines and developing it to help humanity, make stuff do faster and easiler.its good and its changings peoples life every day like making a phrostatic hands and robots to do your house hold stuff.
robotics is the futuree of the worldd . theree is a sayingg that in 20 years most jobs that exist today will not exist . it is a dangerous yet exciting topic to discuss .
How Do I Percieve Robotics ?
oh.em.gee dudee ! i think robotics is so awesome . i never expected to be so fascinated by it .
Well robotics is where you study the make up of robots and how they work. Now in the future robots will be well known and will replace many humans in your everyday job.And after they do this they will create many other hi-tech things such as houses that can do somethings to clean up or maybe hover cars, something of that sort.

I think that Robotics is basically the study of Robots. Tecnology is implemented into making these creations as well. Robots are built to make eveything(life) easier.
I think that robotics is the study of how robots can perform human tasks and behave like humans in some ways. I think it is a major step in technology but be dangerous to the ecomony putting many workers out of jobs.
Robotics is the way some machince or thing of that nature acts and is detyermind to be robotic by others. I precive robots as smart creatures that were created for a purpose.
robotics is everything abouty robots and the way they function.Robotics also deals with the structure and mechanics of certain robots.its normally used in the industrial field
Robotics I think is the knowledge of math and science put together to build and create objects controled by computers and humans. I see robotics as something cool and interesting, and it helps with math.

Robotics Robotics is the science and manufacture of robots. The word robotics was first used by isaac asimov in his sci-fi story "Liar." Robots that are in the work force must be able to manipulate objects. No robot has ever been created that can walk on two legs like a regular human, however skating and fishing robots have been created.
I think that he was very open minded and stsed the facts.I like how he included th deatails on struce. And also i just like his whole out look on robots.
I think that robotics plays a very important role in our life today because of it's ability to make work easier and less complicated. I also think that robotics can releive stress, and avoid depression in some ways we don't know. My question that I have with the actual robot was, can the feet be referred to as effectors even if the feet dosen't act like hands?
I think that soon robotics will be the feild that every one will want to go into because that will be whare the money is and many jobs will be cut back because robots will be able to do them three times faster. Robots are the future of earth. And for humans that have amputated limbs there is a robots that can do that. Like a common robot now the segway is just a start of what kind of technology they have waiting
Robotics is like the future of technology.Robotics require alot of knowledge in the field of science, mechanics, and software. Know they even have it to where the robots manipulate the human body.
Robotics is the science and technology of robots, their design, manufacture, and application. The structure of a robot can be called Kinematic Chain which means it has similar functions as humans. The actuations are the muscles of the robot and stores energy into movement. The actuatorsz are mostly motors which are powered by electricity or chemicals or compressed air. There are various ways robots travel, i.e. Two wheeled, ballbot(travels on a ball), and track( robot that rolls ona track).
A person working in the field dealing with robotics is a roboticist. Basically there job or their field is to make machines work for the efficiency of mankind. The machines that are built vary in appearance and their use. Some robots are designed to have similar characteristics as a human. Making a robot requires time and effort because it's a slow process. However the time and effort the roboticist put into these machines, eventually builds to make something more efficient.

A team of surgeons made mediacal history to remove a large tumor from a 21 year old women. The robot was just like a video game as they guided the the robotic arms through Paige Nickason brain during the 9 hour surgery. The scientist used the robot to remove a egg shape tumor for the fist time in history. The robot they used was known as the NueroArm and is often used to do remove items at a micron. Thanks to the roboitc surgery Paige is back working again as a banquet chef and is back with her 2 year old son
The title of the summary is "A simple starter platform" by Jeff Sampson. This article is about how robots is made to do simple task and projects. Some robots complete jobs like pulling and pushing objects. Another machine is a switch box. A switch box is a small platform built from the micro cassette tape drives that Axman sells. You can find this machine and many more at http://www.tcrobots.org/articles/a02.htm
Icubs are the next hit robots. The technologies developed on the iCub platform – such as grasping, locomotion, interaction, and even language-action association – are of great relevance to further advances in the field of industrial service robotics.
The iCub robots are about the size of three-year-old children, with highly dexterous hands and fully articulated heads and eyes. They have hearing and touch capabilities and are designed to be able to crawl on all fours and to sit up.
Humans develop their abilities to understand and interact with the world around them through their experiences. As small children, we learn by doing and we understand the actions of others by comparing their actions to our previous experience But the first and key skill iCub needs for learning by doing is an ability to reach towards a fixed point. By October this year, the iCub developers plan to develop the robot so it is able to analyse the information it receives via its vision and feel ‘senses’. The robot will then be able to use this information to perform at least some crude grasping behaviour – reaching outwards and closing its fingers around an object.
“Grasping is the first step in developing cognition as it is required to learn how to use tools and to understand that if you interact with an object it has consequences,” says Giorgio Metta. “From there the robot can develop more complex behaviours as it learns that particular objects are best manipulated in certain ways
This article is about how the army is making robots that are based off of the older Nintendo video game system. The robot is supposed to completed a series of challenges.
Robotic sensor agents: a new generation of intelligent agents for complex environment monitoring
In this article it talked about how the new generation of inteligents for complex environments were begining to become exposed. It also states how monitoring the special enviornment parameters is a very complicated task to complete. There are many different things in many different areas that have to be changed or delt with. This article also talks about the generation of intelligent, wireless robotic sensor agents (RSAs) for complex environment monitoring. This article is basically informing us that for the future that robots are going to be new and improved and will make a difference in the world itself.
This article is about robot that have been trained to go into battles or wars and they can shoot diferent wepons that are attached to them. They can shoot targets about 2,000 meters away. It cost from 150,000 to about 200,000. It is controlled by a remote.
That is just what I am fearing people allowing robotics take over. The article I read clearly showed that society is aiming at allowing the Robotic world to transform and in my eyes its a bit scarey. The article was "New Robotics Tap the Mind, Help the Heart". SRI's new invention in technogoly allows a small thin, type led go inside your body to perform surgery on its own, what if something goes wrong.
Paralyzed Man Converts Thoughts into ActionBy Ker Than
Summary using livescience.com
Using a novel brain-computer interface, a man paralyzed from the neck down was able to move a cursor on a computer screen, play "neural Pong" and control a robotic arm using only his thoughts
Called BrainGate, the so-called "neuromotor prosthesis" consists of a surgically implanted sensor that records the activity of dozens of brain cells simultaneously. The sensor is square and about the size of a baby aspirin; it has 100 tiny electrodes, each thinner than a human hair.
The sensor is implanted on the surface of the patient's motor cortex, the region of the brain responsible for voluntary movement.
The electrodes, which penetrate about 1 millimeter into the surface of the brain, pick up electrical signals from nearby neurons. These signals are transmitted to a computer via thin gold wires, where they are decoded in real time and used to control electronic equipment.
The researchers originally tested their system on monkeys before moving to clinical trials in humans.

The new robot, Flame, who weighs about 40 pounds and is 4 feet tall can walk just like humans in a with the more fluid, energy-efficient movement. it walks, swaying side-to-side , Flame uses its organ of balance to dictate how far apart its feet are , so it doesn't fall. this walking roots can lead into better training.
There are many robots at this present time doing different typs of jobs. For example the are robots painting cars at ford plants, assembling Milano cookies for pepperidge farms, walking into live volcanoes, driving trains in paris, and defusing bombs in north ireland.Robots are doing things that humans can't or plainly just dont want to do. Robots have not been with us long enough for our great grandparents to know about, at least not all. An anciet Greek poet by the name of Homer describeda type of servant that resemble a type of robot. Now these golems (robots looking things)were made of clay and brought to life bya spoken charm But robots werent envented until the 1950's - 1960's including the envention of transistors and integrated circuits. In 1959, researchers demonstrated the possibility of robotic manufacturing when they unveiled a computer-controlled milling machine and its first product was ashtrays.
New robotic turtle has been created to help reasearchers learn how to make better underwater vehicles. Its flippers are made of material similar to a real sea turtle's flippers. Scientist are just now starting to program the turtle to use 2 flippers instead of the usual 4. This allows the robot turtle to be faster and more efficent.

CAN ROBOTS BE POLITE? By Michael Schirber, LiveScience Staff Writer posted: 25 October, 2004 9:00 a.m. ET
Robotic etiquette was on display at the American Association for Artificial Intelligence meeting in July of 2004 in San Jose, California, where robots competed against each other and dealt amicably with human life forms. Bill Smart introduced a robot photographer and made a comment saying that people with no experience with robots like believe that robots are going to "kill us all". A group led by Carneige university created their robot Grace to interact openly with people. She did this by answering questions like "where can i get something to eat?" Smart also commented that the hardest task is to have a robot interpret info from their sensors.
This Article is all about the future of robotics, it talks about how that are going to do everything that humans do today. It also talks about how like just as in robot books the robots have rules to follow, they will have them to follow in the future
A company by the name of United States Robotics(USR) is a company that makes computer modems and other products. They have a reputation of having high quality and compatibility for their products. The USR was found in Chicago, IL in 1976 by a group of entrepreneurs. The name was named off Issac Asimov, who credited for creating the term robotics. USR was one of the first companies to offer a dial-up modem for personal computers. USR became the most successful of the other companies because of a marketing scheme that offered large discounts to BBS sysops. This system allowed long-distance file transfers to be exchanged more quickly.
Human Thoughts Control New Robot By Sara Goudarzi, LiveScience Staff Writer
Robots are very advanced pieces of technology. They range from a simple cd player to a great big car. People are always talking about the things they can do with them or their imagination of a future with many advanced robots. Everyday people are creating robots that are yet to be seen but ready to be discovered. The article I read is about people creating a robot that they can control with signals from the human brain. In this article they talk about how their robot can do what it does, by picking up proper brainwaves. They can do this by picking up electrodes that are in a cap. With this information they can make the robot go to different places or pick up different objects. The way that they work is they when a human sees an object they want it pops up on the computer and then
goes to the robot and the robot follows the instructions. Then when the robot sees something it will send the picture to the computer screen. They have many plan for the future. They are expecting great things. They hope to make the robot more adaptive to the environment by having them carry out more complex commands.
Nimble New Robot is Safe Around Humans By Alan S. Brown, Special to LiveScience
In the book, I, Robot, people thought that robots were dangerous. They were afraid that if anything was to go wrong they would be hurt. I believe that if we had humanlike robots I our society today many people would be afraid, especially when many people are afraid of people dressed in costumes. The article I read was about how a robot is not considered dangerous. They are talking about a robot called Katana that is shaped like an arm. It is very light weight and is used to pick things up and move them. It moves slowly but has great accuracy. It is compared to many other robot that have to be caged because they are considered dangerous. Robots are normally programmed to automatically stop if it begins to mess up. This robot doesn’t have to be caged because it is that safe. They said that a kid could control this robot.
Japan is creating a new set of safety guidelines for next-gen robots. These rules are the 1st attempts to formalize the first of Asimov's science-fictional Laws of Robotics, or maybe just the part abbout humans not being harmed by robots. The Japanesse guideline requires a numerous amount of sensors that would prevent a robot-human collision. Softer materials will also be needed in order to prevent injuries. Emergency shut- off switches are also requiste for future robots. This will revolutionize robotics and calls attention to the rising concern of the safety of human contact with robots.

They are developing to build flying robots to muster cattle on outback stationsing robots in order to make. When the robots are finally devloped they will herd cattle and other uses in the Austrillian outback. Dr.Roberts thinks they will be able to survey animals and agriculture, count kangaroos, and count cattle.
New Skin Lets Robots Get Sensitive By Bjorn Carey, LiveScience Staff Writer
In the world we live in today new things are happening. There is always a new ideal floating around out there. They are mostly new ideals to make life easier. The article that I was reading was about them making skin for robot so that they could sense things better. They said that the problem with robots was that they really only work when things aren’t in there way, so they thought to create a skin that would allow them to move around if they are in a room with many things or not. The skin that they are using fingernail sized sensors embedded all over its surface. This skin is a flexible plastic that allows the robot to sense things before they collide and move. In the future they plan to use even more sensors to make it even better. They also plan to use the skin in space, so they really have to take many precautions and study the robot. One problem though was them trying to make larger skin to take into space. This will be a huge step for robots.
Researchers have built a robot so small that you need a microscope to see it. The robot was designed by Bruce Donald of Dartmouth Unniversity. The robot is controlled like a car; you can steer it anywhere on a flat surface, and drive it wherever you want to go. It moves like a silicon inchworm. This robot makes use of innovative bending which allows it to move freely across a surfacewithout wires or rails.
How Robotic Surgery Will Work by Kevin Bonsor. This article is about how robots are already making cars, going to other places, and going to the bottom of the sea. So why not humans. This article says during the 21st century, and along the decades go by, they say that robots will become conscious, and self aware. Robotic surgery will lead to the replacements of human doctors and human assistants. In this article, you will learn about surgical robots that have been or will be approved for use in operating rooms. It will also take a look at the advantages and benefits that robotic surgery will have over conventional surgical methods.
Can Robots Be Polite? Jerion Watkins www.livescience.com
There was a Robotic etiquette meeting. There were 20 participants with unique robots. one group had a robot serve as a receptionist to provide people with the necessary information. Its expressions would show on a flat panel.Another group created a photographer robot. While at the meeting he controlled the robot for it to record and take photos. Some people were mad because the camera didn't have a flash, so they didn't know when to pose. So really, can robots be polite? Yes they can its just very challenging. Its nice to see the otherside of a person or robot.
This article is about a robot that is controlled by human thoughts. Right now scientists have achevied a 94% accuracy rate during recent testing sessions. In the future scientists hope to make the robot more interactive with its environments. For the robot to work you have wear a elcotrode cap that gernates brainwaves that commands the robot. Scientists say in the future robots like these will be more commomplace.
The artice I read had to have been by far the best article I’ve found all week. Why, you may ask? It’s about the robot maker iRobot. He is creating programmable software that will allow students and others to order around their robots. I thought that it was all made up, about robots actually fulfilling commands but this summer we actually have been doing that with our own robots, learning how to program and such. The article has been out since 2007 so theirs no telling what other types of robotic software he has created. The program is called “CREATE”, sold for 129.99 with other artifacts sold separately. Buyers have programmed their robots to open the Fridge, pick up socks, get drinks. The invention is brilliant yet scary to me. It’s the novel iRobot is actually coming true and its only 2008. I question, what does the future have for us?

This articles is about a robto that can play with children and can "learn" from it mistakes. This robot also learns about its surrounding just like a child would do. It can know who says sound and can fell stuff. This robot also will have "senses".
Title: Robot was designed to help people in the real world.
The EI-E robot was created at Georgia Tech and Emory University to help sick patients. Instead of being programmed to act like a human it’s programmed to interact with them. The robot was introduced in 2008 and it was tested out involving patients with a degenerative disease in a real world setting. To command the El-E, the user points a laser at something for a few seconds. The robot responds with a beep and then zeros in on the target. Once there, it lifts a mechanical arm and grabs the object. It begins the return trip when the laser is pointed at the user's feet, and it looks for a human face before handing over what it grabbed. One of the creator’s say that people are so focused on making robots like human that they don’t realize the way you can program to interact. Researchers hope the laser-directed robot could someday open doors, switch light panels and guide patients, but it still has a way to go. When it is available to be put on market the creators say that it won’t be as expensive as service animals such as dogs or monkeys.

Robotics At Your Command: CONTROL Your Own Remotely Controlled Vehicle
This article talked about how using their product at your Command can be controlled either by remote or autonomously. It talked about NASA’s plan to send two Rovers to Mars back in 2003 and explained that it was more likely to function in a similar manner. By this they meant controlled by both a remote and autonomous. It also lets us know that NASA’s IRP aka: Intelligent Robotics Program is working now on improving its autonomous navigational status.
It also states how using the autonomous plan is better than a remote because in order for NASA to have a vehicle to function on mars you would have to wait for about 10 mins before your commands could be received by the vehicle it self. This is about the estimated time it takes for radio signals to travel between earth and mars.
Today, robots are enjoying a resurgence. As computer processors are getting faster and cheaper, robots can afford to get smarter. Meanwhile, researchers are working on ways to help robots move and "think" more efficiently. Although most robots in use today are designed for specific tasks, the goal is to someday make universal robots, robots that are flexible enough to do just about anything a human does–and more. The golems of medieval Jewish legend were robot-like servants made of clay, brought to life by a spoken charm. Leonardo da Vinci drew plans for a mechanical man in 1495
Isaac Asimov and some other scientist is reseaching the future of robotics. They are saying that behavioral restirctions are the only thing between peace for humans and the destruction of humaans. They are also sayig that these restirctions are unethical because they violate that robots free will. They are also purposed that we take the restrictions off and just provide robots with metal structures that will guide them toward the self invetion of good, ethical behaviors.
As we know it robots are originally controled by humans making them human slaves. They were once only located in Eastern Europe but as time proceeded they migrated to other parts of the world. Robot is said to come from a word that roughly translates as slave labor coming from the Czech. In a way they would prefer to use the word robot as a nicer name for them instead of human slaves. If you do not know what the robotic laws are then i will tell you. The first law is: A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. The second law is:A robot must obey orders given it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. And the third law is: A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
this article tells about the military and the robots in it. they say that war is too dangerous for humans so they use robots for the job. but they are against automated killings.
The Article start out talking about how it is illegal to give jobs to illegal immigrants and how that can be solved by using robots. Then they go into about how robots are alreday being used in Hospitals, and how they use sensor to do things that is the main idea of the article
This article is about how scientisty are debating abuot wether or not Robots will become more intelligent than humans and rule the world. They are saying that already the computer chips in the computers are becoming moore powerful without human upgrades. Every 18 months the computer power doubles. They are saying that they can use this as an advantage to get powerful computers untill the intelluigence surpasses humans. They say that the onke thing that will keep robots from being smarter than humans is common since.
Industrial robot An industrial robot is an mechanically controlled, flexible manipulator programmable robot. some of the things that industrial robots do are welding, painting, ironing, assembly, pick things up and place them where you want. All of theses are done fast. The most common used robot for industrial automation are articulated robots, SCARA robots and gantry robots.
http://www.spacedaily.com/reports/Robots_Used_To_Keep_Children_Safe_In_Japan.html In Japan sensors are able to read the integrated circuit chip tags the size of a business card. They have been planted into the backpacks of about 100 students who have volunteered to take part in the experiment that will run until March 20. When a child passes the vending machine the machine detects the child that passes it, alerting the parents with an e-mail informing the parent that their child has passed that vending machine, with the time, location, and photos. This is used as a precaution measure to protect the children however I do have feed back. Although the parent is informed as to where there child’s where about’s. What if the parent doesn’t receive the message in time?

The Roboo cup is said to be a spring board of developing senses for robots like sight, touch, hearing, and smell.
My article is about personal robots in japan. There are able to help older people around the house. They can lots of things from clean to entertain. The ideas started when honda came out with there walking humanoin asimo.
My article was about engineers at Duke University are very close to making it to where robots can perform surgery on patients without much human guidance. In dangerous situations or remote locations like in space or on the battlefield. The engineers at Duke say that using these robots will make certain that it will be safer for the patients. In the robots technology they use 3-D ultrasonic sound for the robots eyes, a artificial intelligence program is used for the brain by taking a real-time 3-D, processing it and then giving the robot specific task to perform. Advances in ultrasound technology have made these latest experiments possible, the researchers said, by generating detailed, 3-D moving images in real-time. fic orders to perform.
How do you stop a robot from destroying you and the rest of civilization? You don't. How many robots does it take to screw in a light bulb? Three – one to hold the bulb and two to turn the ladder. What’s Silver and Lies in the Grass ? R2 Doo Doo…

robotics is the study of robots and how they actually function. I percieve this term as sometimes boring but possibly entertaining
i think robotics is way robots can fit in our society and make life easier for humans
To me roboticts are basic and complex prinicples of robots. Also they are the building blocks of the future of robotics.
Robotics is a type of science and technology of robots. Robotics requires knowledge of electronics, mechanics and software. Robotics are the basic foundation into the world of robots.
A robot is a mechanical or virtual artificial agent. A robot is a system that conveys a sense intellengence. Some robots are percieved as great help unto society because they help people do jobs, but for others robots are a hinderence by taking away jobs and to soon be the future of mankind.
robotics is the study of robots. robotics are slowly taking over the world
Robotics to me is artificial life created by man to help benifit us in life shown through technology and engineering by using different mecanisms and parts in a particular design.
Robotics is the study of advanced machinery. I think that robotics is going to be the future, that robots are going to take the place of humans in the work feild
robotics is the study of robots. it is slowly getting more advanced.
robotics is a certain advancement of technology in which people study robots and engineering. most believe that it will decrease the number of jobs in the world because robots will "take over". however even if that happens you will still need people to build and fix the robots.
What Is Robotics ?
robotics is the futuree of the worldd .
theree is a sayingg that in 20 years most jobs that exist today will not exist . it is a dangerous yet exciting topic to discuss .
How Do I Percieve Robotics ?
oh.em.gee dudee !
i think robotics is so awesome .
i never expected to be so fascinated by it .
oreo_barbie .
Well robotics is where you study the make up of robots and how they work. Now in the future robots will be well known and will replace many humans in your everyday job.And after they do this they will create many other hi-tech things such as houses that can do somethings to clean up or maybe hover cars, something of that sort.

i dont understand robotics yet
Robotics is a field of technology dealing with robots.the way i see it is that its a job that will soon dominate the work field
Robotics is design and application with technology
I think that Robotics is basically the study of Robots. Tecnology is implemented into making these creations as well. Robots are built to make eveything(life) easier.
Robotics is the study of robotics. Robotics is used to decrease the amount of work done by humans.
I think that robotics is the study of how robots can perform human tasks and behave like humans in some ways. I think it is a major step in technology but be dangerous to the ecomony putting many workers out of jobs.
Robotics is the study/making of understanding robots and their functions.
Robotics I think is the knowledge of math and science put together to build and create objects controled by computers and humans. I see robotics as something cool and interesting, and it helps with math.
Robotics is the science and technology of robots, their design, manufacture, and application.
Robotics
Robotics is the science and manufacture of robots.
(one day a robot might be president)
ROBOTICS
Human Thoughts Control New Robot

A new robot has been created that can be operated through signal from the human brain.Generating the proper brainwaves can be picked up by a cap with electrodes that sense the signals and reflect a person's instructions—scientists can instruct a humanoid robot to move to specific locations and pick up certain objects. Dispite the excitement of the new development this technology is limited to moving forward, picking up one of two objects, and bringing it to one of two locations.

Robot removes Calgary woman's brain tumour-Michelle Butterfield
A team of surgeons made mediacal history to remove a large tumor from a 21 year old women. The robot was just like a video game as they guided the the robotic arms through Paige Nickason brain during the 9 hour surgery. The scientist used the robot to remove a egg shape tumor for the fist time in history. The robot they used was known as the NueroArm and is often used to do remove items at a micron. Thanks to the roboitc surgery Paige is back working again as a banquet chef and is back with her 2 year old son

"A simple starter platform" by Jeff Sampson.
As small children, we learn by doing and we understand the actions of others by comparing their actions to our previous experience
But the first and key skill iCub needs for learning by doing is an ability to reach towards a fixed point.
“From there the robot can develop more complex behaviours as it learns that particular objects are best manipulated in certain ways

on the cnn they are building new smart robots out of cubes. the concept came from the terminator movie. These robots are able to interact with humans.

Universal Robots: the history and workings of robotics
http://www.thetech.org/robotics/universal/index.html
Robotic Turtle Proves Graceful:
New robotic turtle has been created to help reasearchers learn how to make better underwater vehicles. Its flippers are made of material similar to a real sea turtle's flippers. Scientist are just now starting to program the turtle to use 2 flippers instead of the usual 4. This allows the robot turtle to be faster and more efficent.

CAN ROBOTS BE POLITE?
By Michael Schirber, LiveScience Staff Writer
posted: 25 October, 2004 9:00 a.m.
She did this by answering questions like "where can i get something to eat?"
Smart also commented that the hardest task is to have a robot interpret info from their sensors.

"The U.S. Robotics"
Human Thoughts Control New Robot
By Sara Goudarzi, LiveScience Staff Writer

Nimble New Robot is Safe Around Humans
By Alan S.

Asimov's First Law: Japan Sets Rules for Robots
Japan is creating a new set of safety guidelines for next-gen robots. These rules are the 1st attempts to formalize the first of Asimov's science-fictional Laws of Robotics, or maybe just the part abbout humans not being harmed by robots. The Japanesse guideline requires a numerous amount of sensors that would prevent a robot-human collision. Softer materials will also be needed in order to prevent injuries. Emergency shut- off switches are also requiste for future robots. This will revolutionize robotics and calls attention to the rising concern of the safety of human contact with robots.

Dr.Roberts thinks they will be able to survey animals and agriculture, count kangaroos, and count cattle.
New Skin Lets Robots Get Sensitive
By Bjorn Carey, LiveScience Staff Writer

The World's Smallest Robot

Article Summary
Today, robots are enjoying a resurgence. As computer processors are getting faster and cheaper, robots can afford to get smarter. Meanwhile, researchers are working on ways to help robots move and "think" more efficiently. Although most robots in use today are designed for specific tasks, the goal is to someday make universal robots, robots that are flexible enough to do just about anything a human does–and more.

Robot Oppression: Unethicality of the Three Laws
http://www.asimovlaws.com/articles/archives/2004/07/robot_oppressio_2.html

Why Robots Won't Rule
This article is about how scientisty are debating abuot wether or not Robots will become more intelligent than humans and rule the world. They are saying that already the computer chips in the computers are becoming moore powerful without human upgrades. Every 18 months the computer power doubles. They are saying that they can use this as an advantage to get powerful computers untill the intelluigence surpasses humans. They say that the onke thing that will keep robots from being smarter than humans is common since.

In Japan sensors are able to read the integrated circuit chip tags the size of a business card.
